Saints have picked up two points from their opening three William Hill Premiership fixtures. The Buddies drew 1-1 against Rangers at The SMiSA Stadium on Sunday with Jonah Ayunga scoring his first goal of the season. Our other point came after a 0-0 draw with Motherwell on matchday two.

Hibernian will go into Sunday's match on the back of a trip to Poland where they face Legia Warsaw in the second leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off tie. The Hibees lost 2-1 at Easter Road in the first leg, though Josh Mulligan's late goal gave David Gray's side hope heading to Warsaw.

Hibernian have picked up four points from their opening two William Hill Premiership matches after a 2-1 win away to Dundee and a 2-2 draw against Kilmarnock at Easter Road.

Stephen Robinson's men are unbeaten in their last six against Hibernian and have won on their last three trips to Easter Road in the William Hill Premiership. A double from Conor McMenamin helped Saints to a 2-1 victory on our last visit back last November.

The last meeting between the two came in May when Saints fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at The SMiSA Stadium.

Form

The Buddies secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup following a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win over Hearts last weekend. Alex Gogic gave Saints a first-half lead before Oisin McEntee equalised for the Gorgie side. Five perfect penalties from Richard King, Marcus Fraser, Roland Idowu, Evan Mooney and Malik Dijksteel saw us progress to the last eight.

Stephen Robinson's men picked up their first point in the William Hill Premiership on matchday two after drawing 0-0 at home against Motherwell.

Rangers come into Sunday's match on the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to Club Brugge on Tuesday in the Champions League Play-Off Round.

Russell Martin's men have picked up two points from their opening two William Hill Premiership matches. An opening day 1-1 draw with Motherwell was followed up by another 1-1 stalemate at Ibrox against Dundee.

Saints are unbeaten in their last three against Rangers, winning two and drawing one. A 2-1 Boxing Day victory at The SMiSA Stadium came thanks to goals from Oisin Smyth and Caolan Boyd-Munce. Goals from Mikael Mandron and Toyosi Olusanya saw Stephen Robinson's men win 2-0 at Ibrox in February - our first victory in Govan since 1991.

Mark O'Hara and Conor McMenamin scored as the Buddies twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Rangers at The SMiSA Stadium in the last meeting in April.

Form

Saints picked up a point in the William Hill Premiership last weekend following a goalless draw with Motherwell at The SMiSA Stadium.

The Buddies reached the last 16 of the Premier Sports Cup after a 2-1 win over Ayr United on matchday four saw Stephen Robinson's side top Group D.

Hearts have made an impressive start to the season following Derek McInnes' appointment as manager in the summer. The Jam Tarts won Group E in the Premier Sports Cup after four victories in which they scored four goals in each match.

McInnes' side have followed up that winning run coming into the William Hill Premiership season. An opening day 2-0 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie came before a last-gasp win over Dundee United on Sunday where Stuart Findlay's injury-time goal gave Hearts a 3-2 win at Tannadice.

Hearts sneaked by Saints on penalties the last time the sides met at The SMiSA Stadium. It was Scottish Cup action in February where the Jam Tarts won 4-2 on penalties after the game finished 1-1 after 120 minutes.

Saints were edged out on penalties when the sides met in the Cup

Famously, the last time the two teams met in this competition was the Final in 2013. Not that anyone will need reminding, but goals from Esmael Goncalves, Steven Thompson and Conor Newton saw Saints win 3-2 at Hampden and bring the cup back to Paisley for the first time.

The Officials

Steven McLean is the referee on Saturday. There is no VAR in place for this match.

Up Next: St Mirren v Motherwell (9th Aug)

St Mirren are home this weekend as Stephen Robinson's men host Motherwell at The SMiSA Stadium on Saturday.

It's our first William Hill Premiership home fixture of the new season and begins a run of three home matches on the bounce for the Buddies.

Match Details

St Mirren v Motherwell
Competition: William Hill Premiership
Date: Saturday 9th August 2025
Kick-off: 3pm
Venue: The SMiSA Stadium

Tickets

Season tickets are valid for Saturday's match. Supporters without a season ticket can buy online at stmirren.com/matchtickets

Tickets for away supporters are on sale directly from Motherwell.

Form

The Buddies came close to taking a point away to Celtic on the opening day of the season.

Saints' resistance was finally broken on 87 minutes when Luke McCowan scored the only goal of the match to give Celtic a 1-0 victory at Celtic Park. That ended a run of 10 without defeat in competitive action for Stephen Robinson's side, but there were plenty of positives to take from Sunday's match heading into the rest of the season.

Motherwell snatched a late point at home to Rangers on matchday one. After falling behind in the first-half, the Steelmen's persistence paid off as when Emmanuel Longelo netted in the 87th minute to grab a share of the spoils for Jens Berthel Askou's men.

Danish manager Askou took over the Steelmen in the summer following the surprise departure of Michael Wimmer. Askou's style of play has impressed the 'Well support on their way to qualification from Group G in the Premier Sports Cup.

The Steelmen were unbeaten against Saints in three matches last season. Despite holding a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Caolan Boyd-Munce and Killian Phillips, Motherwell managed to take a point when the teams last met in March thanks to a double from Callum Slattery. Tony Watt scored an injury-time winner for the Steelmen on their last visit to The SMiSA Stadium back in March.

The Officials

The referee on Saturday is Ross Hardie with Greg Aitken on VAR duty.

Form

Saints were a whisker away from taking all three points at Celtic Park on the final day of season 2024/25. Jonah Ayunga's second-half goal gave us the lead on trophy day in the east end of Glasgow, but an injury-time leveller from James Forrest saw the hosts snatch a share of the spoils.

Jonah Ayunga scores against Celtic

Stephen Robinson's men go into Sunday's match having won Group D in the Premier Sports Cup with wins over Ayr United, Annan Athletic and Forfar Athletic. That, coupled with an unbeaten run to finish last season, means Saints haven't lost in any of their last 10 competitive fixtures.

Sunday's match is Celtic's first competitive match of the new season. Brendan Rodgers' side had a mixed pre-season with victories over Queen's Park, Cork City, Sporting CP and Newcastle United, a draw with Al-Ahli as well as defeats to Estrela Amadora and Ajax.

The hosts will unfurl the league flag prior to kick-off.

The Officials

Don Robertson is the referee on Sunday with Greg Aitken on VAR duty.

Match Preview: Celtic v St Mirren (17th May)

St Mirren close out 2024/25 with our Euro hopes going to the final day when we face Celtic at Celtic Park.

Saints came from behind to draw 2-2 with Hibernian on Wednesday night. But we remain a point behind Dundee United who occupy the final European spot heading into the last day.

Stephen Robinson's side must better Dundee United's result if they want to ensure qualification for the UEFA Conference League. However, a win for the Arabs at home to Aberdeen on Saturday would render any Saints result moot in the race for that final spot.

Tickets for Saturday's match are completely sold out.

Match Details

Celtic v St Mirren
Competition: William Hill Premiership
Date: Saturday 17th May 2025
Kick-off: 12:30pm
Venue: Celtic Park

The Opposition

Celtic officially clinched the title in the first post-split fixture following a 5-0 win over Dundee United at Tannadice. But in truth it's been a foregone conclusion for many months given Brendan Rodgers' side's lead in the William Hill Premiership.

The Hoops go into Saturday's match on the back of a 5-1 win away to Aberdeen on Wednesday night. That result followed a 3-1 victory at home to Hibernian on Saturday.

Celtic have been victorious in all three meetings between the sides this season. Brendan Rodgers' side were 3-0 winners on our last trip to Celtic Park back in January. A valiant effort from Saints in the previous meeting at The SMiSA Stadium in March wasn't enough to take anything but the game was certainly closer than the 5-2 final scoreline suggests.

Our last win over Celtic came at The SMiSA Stadium in September 2022 when goals from Mark O'Hara and Jonah Ayunga saw us run out 2-0 victors. Our last win at Celtic Park was in January 2021 with goals from Kristian Dennis and Ilkay Durmus securing our first win in Parkhead since 1990.

The Officials

David Dickinson is the referee on Saturday and his assistants are Ross Nelson and Steven Traynor.

Calum Scott is the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

Match Preview: St Mirren v Hibernian (14th May)

It's our final home match of the season as St Mirren host Hibernian at The SMiSA Stadium on Wednesday night.

Stephen Robinson's men have taken the race for Europe to the final week after a 2-0 win away to Dundee United saw us close the gap on the Arabs to just two points with two matches remaining.

The Buddies are in good form having taken 10 points from a possible 12 in our last four William Hill Premiership matches.

Match Details

St Mirren v Hibernian
Competition: William Hill Premiership
Date: Wednesday 14th May 2025
Kick-off: 7:45pm
Venue: The SMiSA Stadium

The Opposition

Hibernian could all but secure third place on Wednesday night. Despite a 3-1 defeat away to Champions Celtic on Saturday, the Hibees are in pole position to secure third spot given their three point lead over fourth place Aberdeen as well as a vastly superior goal difference. A win for David Gray's men on Wednesday coupled with Aberdeen failing to beat Celtic at Pittodrie would guarantee third place for the Edinburgh side. A draw would also be enough should the Dons lose to Celtic on Wednesday.

The Hibees are one of the form sides in the William Hill Premiership having only lost two of their last 20 league matches. However, those two defeats - to Celtic and Aberdeen - have come in their last three matches.

Saints are unbeaten in their three matches against the Hibees in the William Hill Premiership this season. A Roland Idowu goal followed by an Oisin Smyth brace saw us defeat Hibernian 3-0 at The SMiSA Stadium on the opening day of the season. Conor McMenamin scored a double when we defeated the Hibees 2-1 at Easter Road in November. Neither side could be separated in the last meeting between the two with the match finishing 0-0 in Paisley back in February.

Match Preview: Dundee United v St Mirren (10th May)

Saints are on the road this weekend as Stephen Robinson's men travel to Tannadice to face Dundee United on matchday 36.

It's our penultimate away match of the season and our final Saturday 3pm kick-off of 2024/25.

The Buddies moved to within five points of Saturday's opponents following a 1-0 win over Aberdeen at The SMiSA Stadium on Saturday. Mikael Mandron's second-half goal saw Saints pick up the points and make it three unbeaten in the William Hill Premiership.

Match Details

Dundee United v St Mirren
Competition: William Hill Premiership
Date: Saturday 10th May 2025
Kick-off: 3pm
Venue: Tannadice Park

The Opposition

Dundee United go into Saturday's match having lost their two post-split fixtures. A 3-1 defeat away to Hibernian on Saturday came on the back of a 5-0 loss at home to Celtic at Tannadice on matchday 34.

However, before those defeats, United had been on a run of three straight wins after successive 1-0 victories over St Johnstone, Hearts and Ross County. Jim Goodwin's men sit in fifth place in the William Hill Premiership, five points ahead of Saints and three points behind fourth placed Aberdeen.

The Arabs have prevailed in all four meetings between the two sides this season. United won 1-0 on both their visits to The SMiSA Stadium and were victorious by the same scoreline when Saints travelled to Tannadice in the Premier Sports Cup in August. The home side won 2-0 on the Buddies' last visit to United with two late goals giving the hosts the points in November.

Saints' last win at Tannadice came in August 2022 when a double from Curtis Main and a late Alex Greive goal saw us win 3-0 in the William Hill Premiership.

The Officials

The referee on Saturday is Steven McLean and he's assisted by Alastair Mather and Andy Milne.

Andrew Dallas is the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

Match Preview: St Mirren v Aberdeen (3rd May)

St Mirren play host to Aberdeen this weekend in our final Saturday home match of the season.

The Buddies picked up a point in our first post-split fixture with goals from Mark O'Hara and Conor McMenamin seeing us come from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Rangers at The SMiSA Stadium.

Match Details

St Mirren v Aberdeen
Competition: William Hill Premiership
Date: Saturday 3rd May 2025
Kick-off: 3pm
Venue: The SMiSA Stadium

The Opposition

Jimmy Thelin's men know that avoiding defeat at The SMiSA Stadium on Saturday would secure their place in European competition next season.

Aberdeen come into Saturday's match following a vital victory over Hibernian at Pittodrie last weekend. Kevin Nisbet's late goal against his former side saw the Dons win 1-0 and go level with the Hibees in the William Hill Premiership in the race to finish third.

Saints have won the last two encounters between the two sides. An early Toyosi Olusanya strike followed by a double from Mikael Mandron saw the Buddies win 3-0 at Pittodrie in January. Stephen Robinson's side were also the first team to defeat the Aberdeen in the William Hill Premiership this season following their record-breaking start. Goals from Olusanya and Richard Taylor saw us win 2-1 at The SMiSA Stadium on a snowy November day.

Ross Hardie is the referee on Saturday and he'll be assisted by Alastair Taylor and Ross Nelson.

Steven McLean is the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

Match Preview: St Mirren v Rangers (26th Apr)

Saints head into the final part of season 2024/25 as our post-split fixtures get underway at home to Rangers on Saturday.

Stephen Robinson's men secured a third consecutive top six finish in the William Hill Premiership following our dramatic 3-2 win over Ross County on matchday 33.

Saturday's match kicks off the first of our final five matches this season with the Buddies sitting in sixth place, nine points behind Dundee United and Aberdeen who sit in fourth and fifth respectively.

Match Details

St Mirren v Rangers
Competition: William Hill Premiership
Date: Saturday 26th April 2025
Kick-off: 3pm
Venue: The SMiSA Stadium

The Opposition

With leaders Celtic requiring just a point to secure the league title, Rangers head to The SMiSA Stadium knowing they could guarantee a runners-up position in the William Hill Premiership. Barry Ferguson's men sit 13 points clear of third-place Hibernian and a win in Paisley, or defeat for Hibernian away to Aberdeen, will ensure the Ibrox side finish second in the league.

Rangers come into Saturday's match following their exit from the UEFA Europa League last week after a 2-0 loss away to Athletic Bilbao. The light blues' last league outing saw them fightback from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 away to Aberdeen at Pittodrie despite being down to 10 men for the majority of the match.

While their form at Ibrox has saw Rangers lose their previous three home league matches, including a 2-0 win for Saints in Govan in February, they are unbeaten away from home in the William Hill Premiership since losing 2-1 at The SMiSA Stadium in December when Caolan Boyd-Munce's injury-time strike saw us defeat Gers for the first time since 2020. That win, coupled with our victory at Ibrox, means we have won our last two against Rangers.

Players celebrate Mikael Mandron goal at Ibrox

Players celebrate our win at Ibrox in February. It was the first time Saints had won at Ibrox since 1991 and the first time we boasted back-to-back wins over Rangers since 1980.

The Officials

The referee on Saturday is Colin Steven and he's assisted by Graeme Stewart and Gordon McCabe.

Grant Irvine is the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
