The Opposition
Dundee United go into Saturday's match having lost their two post-split fixtures. A 3-1 defeat away to Hibernian on Saturday came on the back of a 5-0 loss at home to Celtic at Tannadice on matchday 34.
However, before those defeats, United had been on a run of three straight wins after successive 1-0 victories over St Johnstone, Hearts and Ross County. Jim Goodwin's men sit in fifth place in the William Hill Premiership, five points ahead of Saints and three points behind fourth placed Aberdeen.
The Arabs have prevailed in all four meetings between the two sides this season. United won 1-0 on both their visits to The SMiSA Stadium and were victorious by the same scoreline when Saints travelled to Tannadice in the Premier Sports Cup in August. The home side won 2-0 on the Buddies' last visit to United with two late goals giving the hosts the points in November.
Saints' last win at Tannadice came in August 2022 when a double from Curtis Main and a late Alex Greive goal saw us win 3-0 in the William Hill Premiership.
