St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Samuel Ramos on a deal until summer 2028, subject to visa approval and international clearance.
The Spaniard signs a two-year deal with the Saints following the expiry of his contract at Slovakian top-flight side Zemplin Michalovce.
Coming through the Las Palmas academy that helped produce players such as Pedri, Yeremy Pino and Alberto Moleiro, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder can play as a six, eight or 10 and showcased his qualities with seven goals and four assists in the Slovak First Football League last season. In open play, Samuel was the best midfielder in Slovakian top-flight for successful passes into the penalty box and chances created from deep.
During two years at Michalovce, Samuel made 58 appearances scoring 14 goals. He becomes our first signing of the 2026 summer window and is due to meet up with his new teammates on Monday.
St Mirren manager Craig McLeish said: "Samuel Ramos is someone I’m really excited about getting in.
"I came across him a good few months ago before I was in interim charge. Once I got the manager's role and Gavin [Miller] came in, I shared it with him and we looked at the data and it was really good. I watched a lot of his games, spoke to teammates of his and spoke to an ex-coach so I did a lot of digging.
He’ll give us something a bit different that we’ve maybe not quite had. He’s a threat from midfield, he’ll hopefully give us goals and assists from the middle of the pitch. He's really comfortable on the ball and he works his socks off.
"I think the fans will enjoy watching him play and watching his energy and his passion that he plays. It's one I'm really excited about and hopefully he can be a big player for us."
