Lee Erwin leaves by mutual consent

St Mirren Football Club can confirm that we have reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract of Lee Erwin.

Lee signed for Saints from Ross County in September 2020 and scored on his debut against Celtic.

The 27-year-old would make 42 appearances overall scoring four goals.

We would like to thank Lee for his efforts and wish him all the best for his future career.

Up next: Livingston v St Mirren (19th Feb)

St Mirren are back in cinch Premiership action this weekend as Jim Goodwin's side take on Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Saints made it six wins from seven last weekend after a 4-0 win over Kelty Hearts in the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday.

The Buddies are second in the form table in the cinch Premiership having taken 13 points out of 15 since the turn of the year. Saints have beaten St Johnstone (2-1), Hibernian (1-0), Aberdeen (1-0) and Dundee United (2-1), while also drawing 1-1 against Motherwell.

Livingston go into Saturday's match after being edged out of the Scottish Cup by Hearts - losing 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out at Tynecastle after a 0-0 draw in normal time.

David Martindale's outfit have been in fairly similar league form to Saints since their return from the winter break. The Lions have picked up 10 points from a possible 18 with wins over Aberdeen (2-1), Hibernian (3-2) and Dundee (2-0).

Previous

Saturday's match will be Saints' third trip to Livingston this season with mixed fortunes in the previous two visits.

The Buddies exited the Premier Sports Cup in August after a penalty shoot-out loss to the Lions following a 1-1 draw in normal time.

Ethan Erhahon scored the winner when we visited the Tony Macaroni Arena at the beginning of October. The St Mirren Youth Academy graduate scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for Saints.

Saints were denied the three points the last time the sides met in November. Jamie McGrath had given St Mirren the lead before Livingston captain Nicky Devlin scored a late equaliser with the game finishing 1-1.

Ethan Erhahon celebrates after his winner the last time we visited Livingston.

The officials

William Collum is the man in the middle on Saturday. He is assisted by linesmen Alan Mulvanny and Gordon Crawford. Peter Stuart is the fourth official.

St Mirren will face Hearts in Scottish Cup quarter-finals

St Mirren have been drawn away to Heart of Midlothian in the Quarter-Finals of the Scottish Cup.

The tie is scheduled to take place on the weekend of March 12.

Full fixture details including ticketing arrangements will be announced in due course.

Jim Goodwin pleased at professional Saints performance

It was a really professional performance with some good quality football in amongst it."

The manager praised the professionalism of his side as they defeated Kelty Hearts 4-0 in the Scottish Cup.

St Mirren through to last eight of Scottish Cup

  • St Mirren ease through after dominant win over Kelty Hearts
  • Alex Greive scored his second in two games, while Greg Kiltie netted a brace
  • Jordan Jones scores pick of the bunch to get his first goal in Black and White

St Mirren cruised into the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup with a comprehensive victory over Kelty Hearts.

Alex Greive, Jordan Jones and a Greg Kiltie double saw Saints book their place in the last eight of the competition.

Jim Goodwin named the same starting eleven that defeated St Johnstone midweek with Alex Greive leading the line once again after scoring his first Saints goal on Wednesday.

The visitors started in bright fashion with Kevin Thomson wanting his side to take the game to the Buddies. Joe Cardle won a free-kick in a good area early on just 20 yards from goal. Kelty captain Michael Tidser blazed well over. Cardle will feel he should have done better on 12 minutes when he was picked out by Kallum Higginbotham, but his effort was blocked by Joe Shaughnessy.

Saints took the lead with just 15 minutes on the clock when Greive netted his second goal in two games. Richard Tait's initial effort was pushed into the air by Kelty goalkeeper Darren Jamieson with the New Zealand forward the first to react as he headed home.

A tame Greive effort from the edge of the area on 30 minutes and a long-distance strike from Connor Ronan which flew over the bar 10 minutes later were all the game really had to show in the remainder of what was an uneventful first-half.

Jim Goodwin made two changes at the break with Scott Tanser returning from injury in place of Marcus Fraser, while Ryan Flynn replaced Richard Tait.

Jordan Jones doubled Saints' advantage five minutes into the second-half with a stunning goal to open his St Mirren account. The ball was worked back to the Northern Ireland international on the left-hand side of the box and he whipped it into the far right corner of the net to put us two ahead.

Jones was instrumental in our third goal nine minutes later. The winger played a wonderful ball through to Kiltie with the outside of his foot. Kiltie swivelled and fired low into the bottom left to extend the advantage.

Saints were well on top and heading through to the last eight but Kelty still searched for a consolation goal with substitute Alfredo Aygeman forcing Jak Alnwick into a good stop.

In the end though it would be Jim Goodwin's men that would further extend their lead when a bit of calamitous defending from Kelty allowed Kiltie to slam home his second of the day and round off a good afternoon's work.

Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

  • Getting to the SMiSA Stadium

    BY ROAD

Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.

At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

    BY RAIL

Get train from Paisley Gilmour Street to Paisley St James – exit from the station is straight onto Greenhill Road where the stadium is facing you. To plan your journey by rail with Scotrail please click HERE.

From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:

Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.

Follow Albion Street until you come to the junction with Greenock Road where you will turn right. Cross the road then walk about 200 yards before taking your first left on to Clark Street.
