St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce that Fraser Taylor has agreed a new two-year contract.
The St Mirren Youth Academy graduate, who made his first-team debut in 2022 in a Premier Sports Cup victory over Edinburgh City at The SMiSA Stadium, signs up on a deal until summer 2028.
Fraser appeared 13 times for the Buddies last season before joining William Hill Championship runners-up Partick Thistle on loan in January for the remainder of 2025/26. The previous season, the midfielder spent time on loan at Arbroath where his impressive performances saw him pick up the PFA League One Player of the Year.
Fraser told stmirren.com: "I’m really pleased.
"Since the new manager has come in, he spoke to me on the off-season, and his ideas really suit the way I like to play. It was the right decision for me to stay here and it feels like a fresh start. I'm really looking forward to the next two years and hopefully I can keep developing as the player I want to be.
This season is all about playing games and playing at the highest level I can. I want to be playing at this level more consistently and showing the fans and other people in the country what I can do.
"It's going to be a different season, changing the way we're going to play. It’s really exciting and I think the club and all the fans should be excited."
Manager Craig McLeish added: "I've had a long relationship with Fraser through the academy.
"I think so highly of him and I'm glad that he's staying with us. We did have the conversations about him because he's maybe not had the opportunities that he would have probably liked up until this point.
"He's had a couple of loans that have gone well and now the next bit is that he has to break into our first team. He'll be given opportunities to do that, the same as everyone else. But being upfront and honest with Fraser, if he's the best player in that position then he'll get opportunities. He's up for that challenge as well and we're delighted to have him with the group. He brings so much enthusiasm and energy to training every day.
"I know it seems like it's taken a bit of time, but it was one we were both really relaxed about it and kept talking through the summer. It was just more a matter of time before everything was sorted."
