We’re pleased to confirm that Burton O’Brien will join the coaching staff to work alongside Jamie Langfield and Marc Kelly in support of manager Craig McLeish.
Burton came through as a young player at Saints and made 28 appearances for the first-team. He would join Blackburn Rovers in 1999 and go on to have spells with Livingston, Sheffield Wednesday, Falkirk, Alloa Athletic and Cowdenbeath before retiring in 2017.
Upon retiring as a player, Burton would take on the role of U18s coach at the St Mirren Academy where he was in place for over three years.
Burton has worked with the Scottish FA for the past four years as a Performance School Coach and Coach Educator. During his time with the SFA, Burton also worked with Craig at National Team level, coaching some of the best young players in the country including St Mirren Academy’s Luke Douglas and Ruari Duff.
We look forward to welcoming Burton back to the club.
