The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.
Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.
Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.
St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.
We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.
Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.
BY ROAD
Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.
At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.
BY RAIL
Get train from Paisley Gilmour Street to Paisley St James – exit from the station is straight onto Greenhill Road where the stadium is facing you. To plan your journey by rail with Scotrail please click HERE.
BY BUS
Most buses will stop at Paisley Cross or Mill Street, from both you will see the Paisley Town Hall. From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:
Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.
Away fans: cross road to Love Street continue up the street till you come to Albion Street where you will turn left. Follow Albion Street until you come to the junction with Greenock Road where you will turn right. Cross the road then walk about 200 yards before taking your first left on to Clark Street. Walk straight up Clark Street to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the the stadium on the opposite side of the road. St Mirren manager Alan Stubbs reflects on a difficult afternoon in the capital for Saints.
St Mirren were defeated 4-1 at Tynecastle this afternoon as Steven Naismith scored a first half hat-trick for Hearts.
The veteran forward opening the scoring from the penalty spot with just four minutes on the clock. Referee Kevin Glancy had deemed that Uche Ikpeazu had been fouled in the box and Naismith made no mistake from 12 yards despite Craig Samson diving the right way.
But Saints had a great chance to get level only a minute later when the ball was slid through to Stephen McGinn. The captain had time and space inside the Hearts box but dragged his attempt by the far post.
Jimmy Dunne and Ben Garuccio had chances to double the Jambos' advantage, with Dunne nodding wide from a corner and Garuccio sending a fierce drive from the edge of the box just over.
On 17 minutes, Hayden Coulson had an opportunity similar to Stephen McGinn's early attempt but like the skipper he sent the ball wide.
Saints would find themselves level two minutes later though after some nice work from Cammy Smith. The forward was back in the side after having been benched against Livingston a week previous. He did well on the left to break into the box and get to the byline before sending the ball across the six yard box where it deflected off Dunne beyond Zdenek Zlamal.
The Buddies had arguably deserved to be level at that point but the home side were still threatening with Alfie Jones having to make a good block to deny Steven MacLean on 25 minutes.
Hearts re-took the lead on the half hour mark after slack defending from the Saints defence. Ikpeazu's ball into the box was cushioned down into the path of Olly Lee by Naismith. The English midfielder didn't need a second invitation to slam the ball beyond Samson to make it 2-1.
And that second goal seemed to buoy Hearts who would go on to score two goals in the space of three minutes to effectively end the match as a contest before half time.
That, however, was not before the returning Demetri Mitchell, who re-signed for the Jambos on loan from Manchester United earlier this week, almost made it a second debut to remember with an ambitious overhead kick that cracked off the bar.
That was the warning sign for Saints who would concede 60 seconds later with Naismith grabbing his second of the game. The Buddies couldn't get their lines clear at a corner kick with the ball worked to the near post where Naismith managed to squeeze the ball over the line with a header.
Naismith would complete his hat-trick just before half-time after being found with acres of space and an abundance of time in the box to steady himself before rolling an effort beyond Samson and into the back of the net via the post.
The game was over at half-time, but both sides had opportunities after the interval.
Mitchell drove an effort over the bar after a succession of corners 10 minutes into the second period.
Saints had two big chances in the space of six minutes with Lee Hodson smashing the ball into the side netting after getting into the box, before Matty Willock really should have reduced the deficit when he found himself one-on-one with Zlamal but he elected the chip the keeper rather than try to beat him with power which allowed John Souttar to get over to clear off the line.
Alfie Jones spurned a glorious chance with just 10 minutes to go after Nicolai Brock-Madsen headed the ball down to the defender inside the six yard box, but he couldn't connect properly allowing Zlamal to smother.

St Mirren travel to Tynecastle tomorrow to face Hearts in matchday four of the Ladbrokes Premiership.
START TO THE SEASON
It's been a tough start to the season for Alan Stubbs' side who sit in 10th place with three points from their opening three matches.
A 2-1 opening day win over Dundee got things off to the perfect start for Saints, but there has since been losses to Rangers (2-0), Aberdeen (4-0) and Livingston (2-0).
Meanwhile, Hearts sit atop of the Ladbrokes Championship with three wins from three. Their league season began with a thumping 4-1 away win against Hamilton. Austrian Peter Haring netted twice, while Steven Naismith and Steven MacLean also scored to secure an opening day triumph.
The Jambos then defeated Celtic at Tynecastle a week later thanks to the now departed Kyle Lafferty's second half strike.
That was the first of three 1-0 wins for Hearts with Dunfermline beaten 1-0 in the Betfred Cup, before Craig Levein's side defeated Kilmarnock by a single goal at Rugby Park last week.
SUMMER OF CHANGE
Both sides have gone through significant change over the course of the summer. Alan Stubbs was appointed St Mirren manager following the departure of Jack Ross, with Brian Rice and Darren Jackson joining the coaching staff. 18 players left the Simple Digital Arena, with 13 new faces checking in.
Hearts too have been busy in the transfer market with no fewer than 16 players joining the club. New faces such as Peter Haring and Uche Ikpeazu have quickly endeared themselves to the Jambos faithful with good displays in their opening few matches.
FOUR YEARS IN THE MAKING
Tomorrow's match will be the first time the two sides have met since the 2013/14 season.
Hearts, who had faced a tough season following an administration event, were relegated long before the two sides closed out the season with a 1-1 draw in Paisley - the last meeting of the two.
The Buddies last trip to Tynecastle ended in a 2-1 loss which saw Saints reduced to 10 men. Steven Thompson got St Mirren off to the perfect start with a goal inside the first minute. But Callum Paterson equalised soon after to level the scores. Marc McAusland was shown a red card early into the second half with Jamie Hamill netting the winner from the resultant penalty.
Saints did win at Tynecastle that season though with John McGinn and Paul McGowan giving Saints a 2-0 win in October 2013.
TEAM NEWS
Saints completed a deadline day move for Hearts midfielder Ryan Edwards who joins the Buddies on loan until the end of the season. There will be no debut for the Australian as he isn't eligible to play against his parent side.
Lee Hodson made his St Mirren debut last week against Livingston and looks set to keep his place at right back with Paul McGinn still injured.
Gary MacKenzie and Adam Eckersley are both still ruled out following operations, while Cody Cooke, Josh Heaton, Danny Rogers and Ian McShane all miss out due to injury. Jordan Kirkpatrick has returned to light training but is still ruled out.
Hearts fan favourite Demetri Mitchell returned to the club this week for a second loan spell from Manchester United. He could make a second debut for the Edinburgh side in tomorrow's match. Craig Wighton also joined up with the Jambos after completing his move from Dundee earlier in the week.
Ex-Saints coach Austin MacPhee will take charge of Hearts tomorrow with boss Craig Levein will missing the match after taking ill earlier in the week. All at St Mirren would like to wish Craig a speedy recovery.
