Up Next: St Mirren v Livingston (1st Oct)

St Mirren are back in cinch Premiership action this weekend as Stephen Robinson's side host Livingston at the SMiSA Stadium.

Saints return from the international break in high spirits having become the first side to defeat Celtic in league action in almost a year. Mark O'Hara and Jonah Ayunga scored in a 2-0 win over the Glasgow side to smash their 38 game unbeaten record in the league as well as make it four wins from five for the Buddies.

That win over Celtic moved Saints into fourth place with 12 points from our opening seven league matches.

Livingston have had a strong start to their campaign with David Martindale's outfit sitting in fifth place in the cinch Premiership with 12 points also - behind Saints on goal difference only.

The Lions come into Saturday's match on the back of two consecutive 1-0 home wins against Kilmarnock and Hearts.

Previous

There was very little between the two sides last season, though Saints were unbeaten in their four cinch Premiership matches against Livingston - winning one and drawing three.

Ethan Erhahon's first-half goal was enough to see us defeat the Lions 1-0 at The Tony Macaroni Arena last October, while the other three contests - two of which were at the SMiSA Stadium - ended in draws - 1-1, 1-1 and 0-0.

Livingston did come out on top when the sides met in the last 16 of the Premier Sports Cup last season. Following a 1-1 draw after extra-time, the Lions would prevail 4-3 on penalties at Tony Macaroni Arena.

St Mirren's last home victory against Livingston was on the opening day of the 2020/21 season when Richard Tait scored on his debut to give us a 1-0 win.

Saints are unbeaten in their last six home matches against Livingston - winning two and drawing four.

Ethan Erhahon scored the winner when we defeated Livingston last October.
