Harry Davis joins on loan

St Mirren has tonight completed the loan signing of Harry Davis until the end of the season.

The central defender joins from English side Crewe Alexandra where he has made over 200 appearances.

Harry is 25 years old and was previously captain at The Railwaymen.

Welcome aboard Harry!

Saints head out on loan

St Mirren can announce that Jordan Stewart and Kalvin Orsi have both left the club on loan deals until the end of the season.

Jordan joins Annan Athletic until the end of the campaign, while Kalvin makes the temporary switch to Queens Park.

We wish them both well in their moves.

Adam Eckersley Joins The Buddies

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Adam Eckersley until the end of the season.

The 31 year-old left back joins Jack Ross' side after leaving North American Soccer League side FC Edmonton.

Eckersley has previously had spells in Scotland after stints with Hearts and Hibernian over the last few seasons.

After agreeing the short term deal, Eckersley told stmirren.com: "I was waiting on an offer that felt right for me. I know how good a coach he [Jack Ross] is and I felt like I had a trusting relationship with him.

"There's a lot of work to be done and I'll need to build a relationship with the players quick. I've been in the position with Barnsley in the Championship so it's something that I've dealt with before."

Manager Jack Ross said: "It's been no secret that we wanted to bring in a left sided player and Adam has a lot of quality. I worked with him when we were at Hearts and I know he'll be a good addition to the squad. He's experienced, he knows this league and we're delighted to have him in."

Todd at the double as U20s defeat Dundee Utd

Josh Todd scored twice to secure a 2-1 win for the St Mirren U20s over Dundee United in the SPFL Development League.

The Englishman's double helped The Buddies come from 1-0 down to win 2-1 on a cold night at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.

Ali Coote had given the visitors the lead after 23 minutes when he smashed a powerful effort beyond Jamie Langfield from the edge of the box.

Saints pressed for an equaliser before half time and went close when Conor O'Keefe twice forced saves out of Josh Donaldson.

The leveller came with less than 15 minutes remaining when Todd scored a terrific solo goal.

He picked the ball up in midfield before driving at the Dundee United defence, nutmegging one of their defenders to send himself clean through before sending it into the back of the net.

And the midfielder was at the double less than ten minutes later when he put Saints ahead. A ball was whipped into the box from a free kick on the right hand side to meet the toe of Todd as he beat a ruck of players in the box to prod the ball home.

But Dundee United had one last chance before St Mirren could claim victory. A foul by Saints' Luke Barclay right on the edge of the area saw Charlie Telfer step up and rifle an effort goalward, only to see it beaten away by Langfield.

The win sees the U20s stay in 14th place in the SPFL Development League level on points with Hearts and Kilmarnock.
