Grant Tamosevicius agrees contract extension until 2029

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce that goalkeeper Grant Tamosevicius has signed a contract extension that keeps him at the club until summer 2029.

The 17-year-old St Mirren Youth Academy graduate made his first-team debut as a substitute in last Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic.

With a year remaining on Grant’s existing deal, the club has moved to extend by a further two years.

Interim manager Craig McLeish said: "We’re really pleased to be able to extend Grant’s contract until 2029.

"It was always something that was in the works, but following his debut on Sunday, we felt it was right to give Grant that reward.

I brought Grant into the club when he was 13 and it’s nice to be able to share this with him. He is a fantastic young goalkeeper, and we’ve got really high hopes for him.

"Jamie Langfield has worked closely with Grant over the years and deserves a lot of credit in guiding him as does Academy Director Allan McManus. He more than deserves this and we’re delighted that it’s completed."

Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

  • Getting to the SMiSA Stadium

    BY ROAD

Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.

At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

    BY RAIL

Get train from Paisley Gilmour Street to Paisley St James – exit from the station is straight onto Greenhill Road where the stadium is facing you. To plan your journey by rail with Scotrail please click HERE.

Most buses will stop at Paisley Cross or Mill Street, from both you will see the Paisley Town Hall. From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:

Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.

Form

Saints go into our first split fixture on the back of a defeat to Celtic in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden last weekend. Mikael Mandron's double saw us fight back from 2-0 down to take the game to extra-time, but Celtic would prevail in the added 30 minutes.

The Buddies have picked up six points from our last three league matches after victories over Falkirk (2-1) and Aberdeen (2-0). Craig McLeish's side sit in 10th place in the William Hill Premiership, two points ahead of Kilmarnock and three points behind Aberdeen and Dundee.

Livingston remain rooted to the bottom of the William Hill Premiership and sit 12 points adrift with five matches remaining. The Lions could be relegated this weekend if they lose and Kilmarnock take anything in their match against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

Marvin Bartley's side have drawn four of their last six matches, holding Dundee, Hearts and Rangers to 2-2 draws, whilst also drawing 1-1 with Saints when the sides met at the Home of the Set Fare Arena in February. They go into Saturday's match after an agonising late defeat away to Dundee United almost two weeks ago. A quickfire double from Lewis Smith had the Lions ahead at Tannadice, but Dundee United equalised in the 75th minute before scoring a winner from the penalty spot in added on time.

There's been little between the two sides in four meetings this season. Our two league visits to the Home of the Set Fare Arena finished 1-1, while our Scottish Cup Fourth Round tie also finished 1-1 with Saints edging through on penalties back in January.

Mikael Mandron scored the only goal as the Buddies defeated Livingston 1-0 at The SMiSA Stadium in December.

The Officials

Ross Sinclair joins on seven-day emergency loan

St Mirren Football Club can confirm that goalkeeper Ross Sinclair has joined the club on a seven-day emergency loan from St Johnstone subject to approval.

Capped by Scotland at U21 level, Ross has made 15 appearances for St Johnstone including 11 in the William Hill Premiership last season. The 24-year-old joins us ahead of Saturday’s match against Livingston following injuries to Shamal George and Ryan Mullen.

We can confirm that Ryan will undergo surgery after a 4C tear in his thigh that is set to rule him out for at least three months. Our thoughts are with Ryan and we wish him a speedy recovery. Shamal remains out after sustaining an injury in training last week.

Ross joins for an initial seven-day period in accordance with SPFL rules on emergency loans. We thank St Johnstone for their cooperation.

Saints Scottish Cup journey ends at semi-final stage

St Mirren's hopes of a second cup final of the season were ended after defeat to Celtic at Barclays Hampden.

Saints fell at the semi-final stage despite a big effort from Craig McLeish's men at the National Stadium. Mikael Mandron's second-half double saw us force extra-time after coming back from 2-0 down.

However, the final period went horribly wrong for the Buddies with Celtic scoring four goals in six minutes in the first-half of extra-time to secure their place in the final.

We had work to do from the off with Celtic taking the lead inside the first minute of the game. A loose touch from stand-in goalkeeper Ryan Mullen - the only change from last weekend's 1-0 loss to Celtic as he replaced the injured Shamal George - saw Celtic's Daizen Maeda press quickly to block the attempted clearance. The ball came off the outstretched leg of the Japanese forward and trundled across the line.

Celtic could have added a second on nine minutes when Arne Engels was afforded too much space 20 yards from goal. The Belgium international had time to set himself before curling off the post.

Saints were dealt an injury blow with Mullen unable to continue after a knock. He was replaced by 17-year-old youth academy goalkeeper Grant Tamosevicius who came on for his first-team debut. The youngster was soon thrust into action, holding a strike from Benjamin Nygren before making a good two-handed stop to deny Maeda a second.

Grant Tamosevicius made his debut for Saints

The Buddies' best opportunity came on the half-hour mark and only a big save from Viljami Sinisalo denied us an equaliser. Liam Donnelly rose highest to meet a corner and the Celtic goalkeeper did well to push over the bar. The Celtic goalkeeper was called into action again three minutes later. He clattered a clearance off Killian Phillips and had to be at full stretch to get back and tip it wide.

After a good spell for Saints, it was Celtic who almost doubled their advantage heading into the final 10 minutes of the half. Kieran Tierney's cross when deep to the back post where it met Hyunjun Yang. His header back across goal came crashing off the bar.

Saints could have found themselves level heading into the interval after brilliant pressing from Ayunga saw him deflect a Sinisalo clearance to Mikael Mandron. The forward laid it back into the path of Phillips but he couldn't get the connection required and sclaffed it by the post.

As it was, Celtic would add a second on the stroke of half-time. Ralston lashed high into the net after racing on to Yang's backheel to make it 2-0 leaving Saints with it all to do in the second-half.

But the Buddies would get themselves right back into the match less than 10 minutes after the restart. Declan John swung in a lovely cross from the left side where it met Mandron who guided a brilliant header back across Sinisalo to give us hope.

Saints kept pushing for an equaliser but weren't managing to carve up any real opportunities to get level. With 15 minutes of normal time remaining, McLeish introduced Jayden Richardson, Roland Idowu and Jake Young in place of Allan Campbell, Phillips and Ayunga. Eight minutes later it was Conor McMenamin who came on for Liam Donnelly as we looked to find the goal that would take us to extra-time.

Sinisalo made a double save as the minutes ticked away. His first saw him block with his foot before tipping Mandron's follow-up by the post.

Four additional minutes were confirmed and within the first of those four minutes, Saints drew level. Miguel Freckleton was quickest to react to a flick-on from a Celtic throw-in. He knocked the ball on to Young who hooked the ball over the top for Mandron. The forward outpaced Benjamin Arthur and lashed a brilliant finish beyond Sinisalo to complete the comeback and ensure another 30 minutes of time at Hampden.

Mikael Mandron celebrates his equaliser

But any hopes of Saints reaching the final in May were extinguished in a tough six minute spell where Celtic added four goals. Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice either side of a Luke McCowan strike while Benjamin Nygren netted a sixth.
