St Mirren Football Club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Gordon McQueen.
Gordon joined Saints in 1970 and played 77 times for The Buddies before moving down South to sign for Leeds United. A distinguished spell in England with Leeds and Manchester United saw the 30 times capped Scotland defender become a fans favourite at both sides.
After retiring, Gordon embarked on a coaching career that saw him manage Airdrieonians and later return to Love Street for a spell as a coach as well as time spent with Bryan Robson at Middlesbrough.
Our deepest condolences are with Gordon’s loved ones at this sad time.
