Up Next: St Mirren v Ross County (13th Aug)

St Mirren host Ross County in the cinch Premiership with both sides looking for their first point in the league this season.

Saints were unlucky in defeat against Motherwell on the opening day. Stephen Robinson's side created a host of chances, but an inspired goalkeeping performance coupled with a Kevin Van Veen penalty saw the Steelmen leave Paisley with the points. The Buddies were then beaten 4-1 by Aberdeen at Pittodrie last weekend after being reduced to 10 men following Declan Gallagher's sending off.

Ross County come into Saturday's match having also lost their first two league games of the season. Malky Mackay's men were beaten 2-1 by Hearts at Tynecastle on the opening day before a 3-1 defeat at home to Celtic on matchday two.

Previous

St Mirren faced Ross County three times last season - winning one, drawing one and losing one.

Saints were victorious in the first meeting with Eamonn Brophy, Marcus Fraser and Scott Tanser all scoring in a 3-2 win at the Global Energy Arena in October.

The Buddies created a number of chances with 11 shots on target the last time we faced The Staggies at the SMiSA Stadium but couldn't find the net with the game finishing goalless.

Malky Mackay's side edged Saints out by 1-0 the last time the sides met in March with Joseph Hungbo scoring the only goal for County from the penalty spot.
