Neil McCann is in interim charge of the Caley Jags and his side are unbeaten in their last eight in all competitions. They come into the match on the back of an impressive 3-1 win away to their Highland rivals Ross County.

This is the first meeting between the two sides since a 2-2 draw in the Scottish Championship in March 2018. Harry Davis and Lewis Morgan had Saints in front before late goals from Gary Warren and Liam Polworth earned the Caley Jags a point.

St Mirren were the winners when Inverness last visited Paisley in January 2018. Gavin Reilly netted the only goal in a 1-0 win to boost the Buddies' Championship promotion push.

Up next: Motherwell v St Mirren (10th April)

Saints face the Fir Park side on the back of a convincing 3-0 win in the Scottish Cup away to Motherwell's Lanarkshire rivals Hamilton Academical.

A Kristian Dennis strike either side of a Jamie McGrath brace secured Saints' passage into the Fourth Round of the cup.

Motherwell, meanwhile, also safely navigated their way into the next round of the cup with a 5-0 win away to Highland League side Formartine United.

St Mirren have won on their last three trips to Fir Park.

A Jamie McGrath strike was enough to give the Saints a 1-0 win in December in the Scottish Premiership. Goals from Jon Obika and Ilkay Durmus gave the Buddies a 2-1 win at Fir Park in the final meeting of the two sides last season in February 2020. That win came a week after a penalty shoot-out victory for Saints in the Scottish Cup following a dramatic 4-4 draw.

Neither side could be separated when they last met in February as the game finished 0-0 at the SMiSA Stadium.

Jim Goodwin's men are unbeaten in the last six against Motherwell stretching back to a 3-0 loss in Paisley back in December 2019.

Who are the officials?

Kevin Clancy is the referee on Saturday. He's assisted by Graeme Stewart and David Doig. Barry Cook is the fourth official.

Up next: Hamilton Academical v St Mirren (3rd April)

It's cup football for St Mirren this weekend as Jim Goodwin's men head to Hamilton in the Third Round of the Scottish Cup.

Saints reached the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup last season after defeating Broxburn Athletic and Motherwell in the Fourth and Fifth Rounds respectively. A 2-0 loss to Aberdeen at the SMiSA Stadium saw St Mirren's cup journey come to an end at the last eight stage.

Hamilton defeated Edinburgh City 5-0 in the Fourth Round last season but were knocked out at the Fifth Round stage after losing 4-1 at home to Rangers.

Previous

St Mirren were the winners when the two sides last met in the Scottish Cup back in 2012.

A 0-0 draw at the SMiSA Stadium forced a replay. Saints were victorious in the replay at Hamilton with Graham Carey netting the only goal in a 1-0 win.

Saturday sees the two sides meet for the fourth time this season.

Saints have come out on top in one of the previous three fixtures - winning 1-0 at the FOYS Stadium in August.

The Buddies have drawn 1-1 with Accies in the last two fixtures. Indeed, Hamilton were the last opposition for Saints before the international break with an agonising late goal from Kyle Munro grabbing a share of the spoils for Brian Rice's men at Hamilton.

Who are the officials?

Euan Anderson is the referee on Saturday. Alan Mulvanny and Stuart Stevenson are the linesmen. The fourth official is David Lowe.

Up next: Hamilton v St Mirren (20th March)

St Mirren head to Hamilton on Saturday looking to secure a top six place for the first time in the current league setup.

A win against Hamilton Academical at the FOYS Stadium would guarantee top six along with Saints' highest top-flight finish since 1985.

A draw could also be enough for Jim Goodwin's side, but for that to happen Saints would need St Johnstone to fail to win at home to Ross County.

Hamilton, meanwhile, sit in 11th place in the Scottish Premiership - a point above bottom side Kilmarnock and three points behind 10th place Ross County.  Brian Rice's men come into the match on the back of a narrow loss at Livingston on Saturday.

St Mirren have faced Hamilton twice this season - winning one and drawing the other.

Jon Obika's first goal of the season was enough to secure a 1-0 win at the FOYS Stadium back in August.

Ilkay Durmus was on the scoresheet when Accies visited Paisley in February to put Saints in front. But a deflected Bruce Anderson strike gave the Lanarkshire side a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Saints are unbeaten in their last seven against Accies stretching back to December 2018.

Who are the officials?

Don Robertson is the referee on Saturday. David McGeachie and Michael Banks are the linesmen. Colin Steven is the fourth official.

Up next: Rangers v St Mirren (6th March)

St Mirren head to Ibrox on Saturday to face Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

Saints make the short trip to Govan on the back of a five match unbeaten run. Jamie McGrath's late penalty on Saturday gave the Buddies a 1-0 win over Ross County after a run of four draws on the bounce for Jim Goodwin's men.

It could be a big weekend for Saints as we looked to secure a top six place for the first time in the current league setup. A win over Rangers would guarantee our highest league finish since 1985. The Buddies could still guarantee a top six finish this weekend even without a win against Rangers - if St Johnstone and Dundee United lose their matches against Hibernian and Celtic respectively.

Rangers have won five of their last six Scottish Premiership matches having beaten Hibernian (1-0), St Johnstone (1-0), Kilmarnock (1-0), Dundee United (4-1) and Livingston (1-0) while drawing 1-1 away to Hamilton Academical.

The match will be live on PPV on Rangers TV for £9.99.

The Manager's Thoughts

"Nobody needs to tell us how difficult it's going to be but we'll go there in a positive mindset.

"We won't be sitting in on our own 18 yard line for 90 minutes trying to grind out a draw. We're going to go there to take the game to Rangers and have a go.

"We've beaten Rangers in the Betfred Cup a couple of months back. I think we are the only team in Europe at the moment that has managed to do that. We're very proud of that and it would make it even more special if we could go to Ibrox and get a win in the league.

"We're within touching distance of it [the top six] now and we'd love to get it done sooner rather than later."

Previous

Saturday's match will be the fourth meeting of the two sides this season.

Saints remain the only side to have beaten Rangers domestically this season. The Buddies were 3-2 winners in a dramatic Betfred Cup quarter-final. Connor Goldson had given Steven Gerrard's side an early lead, but a brace from Jamie McGrath put Saints in front. The game looked to be heading to extra-time when Steven Davis scored an equaliser for Rangers only for Conor McCarthy to pop up in injury-time to secure a historic win.

The Ibrox side have won the two league meetings between the two - winning 3-0 at Ibrox in August before a 2-0 win at the SMiSA Stadium in December.

Who are the officials?

The referee on Saturday is Steven McLean. He is assisted by Daniel McFarlane and Gordon Crawford. Lloyd Wilson is the fourth official.

Up next: St Mirren v Ross County (27th Feb)

St Mirren's final home match before the split takes place on Saturday as Jim Goodwin's men welcome Ross County to Paisley.

It marks the end of a run of seven home matches and eight matches overall in February.

Saints have drawn each of their last four matches. That started with a 0-0 stalemate away to Aberdeen at Pittodrie, before draws at home against Hamilton (1-1), Livingston (1-1) and Motherwell (0-0).

Ross County hauled themselves off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership on Sunday night with a 1-0 win over Celtic. That was the Staggies' second win in three matches after having beaten Hamilton Academical 2-1 at the start of February. Their only other match this month saw them lose 2-0 at home to Dundee United.

St Mirren and County have faced off twice this season with the Buddies unbeaten.

Saints picked up all three points when they travelled to Dingwall on Boxing Day in a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Marcus Fraser and Kristian Dennis.

The two couldn't be separated when County visited the SMiSA Stadium in August 2020. Jon Obika gave Saints an early lead, but a red card for Joe Shaughnessy allowed County back into the match and they grabbed a point after an own goal from Nathan Sheron.

The officials

Greg Aitken is the referee on Saturday. He'll be assisted by Sean Carr and Joseph Lawson. Alan Newlands is the fourth official.

Up next: St Mirren v Motherwell (24th Feb)

St Mirren look to strengthen their push for top six on Wednesday night with Motherwell the visitors to the SMiSA Stadium.

Jim Goodwin's side have drawn their last three matches - sitting in sixth place in the Scottish Premiership. Saints will be looking to open up a gap on Dundee United and St Johnstone who sit one and two points behind the Buddies respectively.

Motherwell have won three and lost three of their last six Scottish Premiership fixtures. Wins over Ross County (2-1), Dundee United (2-1) and Kilmarnock (1-0) were sandwiched between a narrow defeat (1-2) at Celtic Park.

But the Steelmen, who sit four points off the bottom, will be looking to make amends for heavy home defeats against Hamilton Academical (1-4) and St Johnstone (0-3) in their last two matches.

Livingston sit five points above St Mirren in fifth place in the Scottish Premiership. The West Lothian side have lost their last two Scottish Premiership matches after having gone on an 11 match unbeaten run in the league.

The Buddies have won both league fixtures against Livingston this season - winning 1-0 at the SMiSA Stadium on the opening day of the season thanks to Richard Tait's first St Mirren goal.

Livingston won by the same scoreline when the two sides met in the Betfred Cup semi-final at Hampden in January.

Despite the point, Saints dropped to seventh in the Premiership but would return to sixth place with a win or a draw on Wednesday.

Hamilton hauled themselves off the foot of the table on Saturday with an emphatic 4-1 win away to Motherwell. That followed up on a 1-1 draw with Rangers the previous weekend.

Saints and Aberdeen have faced off three times this season with very little to separate the two.

There has been one win each and a draw in the three meetings this season.

The first saw St Mirren narrowly edged at Pittodrie in October. Ethan Erhahon had given Saints a second-half lead, but Marley Watkins levelled 17 minutes later. The Buddies were left empty-handed when Lewis Ferguson struck in injury time to seal a 2-1 victory for the Dons.

Saints would come out on top when the two sides met at the SMiSA Stadium in the last 16 of the Betfred Cup a month later. Ilkay Durmus put the Buddies in front with an early free-kick before Niall McGinn equalised just before half-time. With the game heading to extra-time, Jamie McGrath scored a late winner for Saints to put us through to the quarter-finals.

Jim Goodwin's side hosted Aberdeen the following week in the Scottish Premiership. The sides couldn't be separated with McGrath equalising from the penalty spot after Jonny Hayes had put the visitors in front.
