Form
St Mirren go into Thursday's match on the back of a 1-1 draw with Dundee United at The SMiSA Stadium on Sunday. Jake Young's second-half goal gave the Buddies a share of the spoils in our final league match of the season. That came after a 2-0 win away to Aberdeen last Tuesday thanks to goals from Richard King and Killian Phillips.
Partick reached the Play-Off Final after overcoming Dunfermline 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals. Following a 1-1 draw at East End Park, the Jags had to come from behind at Firhill after Charlie Gilmour had given the Pars a first-half lead. Goals from Logan Chalmers and Alex Samuel saw Mark Wilson's side prevail. Prior to that, Partick had drawn their last three William Hill Championship matches. The Jags rescued a late point away to Airdrieonians in a 2-2 draw before a 0-0 stalemate against Arbroath. Their final league match of the season saw them held to a 1-1 draw with Queen's Park at Firhill.
The two sides have already met once this season in competitive action. Thistle visited The SMiSA Stadium in March in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup. Dan Nlundulu netted the opener from the penalty spot before Jake Young added a second before half-time. Ben Stanway pulled a goal back for the Jags in the second-half, but the Buddies would see it out to set up a Hampden trip.
