Here to Stay // Fraser Taylor under contract for 2025/26

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to confirm that Fraser Taylor is under contract at Saints for season 2025/26.

The Saints Youth Academy graduate has enjoyed a breakout season, making his first start for the Buddies and enjoying a fruitful loan spell at Scottish League One champions Arbroath where he scored seven goals and registered 14 assists.

Fraser made his first start for Saints in August in our Premier Sports Cup fixture away to Dundee United and featured as a substitute in the UEFA Conference League against Valur and SK Brann. Indeed, it was the 22-year-old who assisted Alex Iacovitti's equalising goal away to SK Brann in the Third Round of the UEFA Conference League.

He would join Arbroath on loan in September and his performances at the Red Lichties saw him named the PFA League One Player of the Year at the PFA Awards Dinner on Sunday evening.

Speaking to stmirren.com, Fraser said: "This season has been good for me.

"Football is a team sport, but to get those accolades is special, especially being voted on by the players in the league that you play against every week. I’m really grateful for that.

During his time at Arbroath, Fraser linked up with experienced ex-Saint Ryan Flynn and he admitted the experience helped him grow as a player.

It’s been another good loan, getting experience playing first-team football. I’m buzzing to come back and just try and get myself in at the first-team here at St Mirren."

"Flynny has helped me up there and playing with him and guys like Sam Stanton and Scott Stewart and learning bits from them has been really good."

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson added: "Fraser has done really well.

I’ve been to watch him personally a few times and for me he’s been the best player in the division. He comes back now and has to bridge that gap. He’ll be working over the summer and it's a big season coming up for him.

"It’s been a fantastic loan for him and Callum Penman. You sometimes think that boys are ready in training, but when you go out and play men's football you can’t replicate that in U18 or youth football.

Results matter, decisions matter and you have to get used to the physicality. He's done fantastic and now it's making that step up to the Premiership level and we're convinced he can do that."

Club Statement

St Mirren Football Club is appalled by the contents of a video circulating on social media that shows a St Mirren fan with additional support needs being verbally abused by opposition supporters during Saturday’s match. We condemn this in the strongest possible terms.

This behaviour is completely unacceptable and has no place at our stadium, in football or wider society.

Our 'Everyone is Welcome, We’re All Buddies' campaign promotes inclusivity at St Mirren Football Club and we want to make the matchday experience at The SMiSA Stadium an enjoyable one for everyone.

The club will work with Aberdeen FC and relevant authorities to identify the persons responsible.

Mikael Mandron goal wins points for Saints

Saints kept their hopes of snatching the final European spot alive with a hard-fought win over Aberdeen in Paisley.

The only goal came on the hour mark, Mikael Mandron celebrating his new contract by controlling Mark O'Hara's free-kick on his chest before volleying past Dimitar Mitov.

The Dons had had Jeppe Okkels' first-half goal ruled out for handball and rarely threatened to draw level, in the end only some great saves from Mitov in stoppage time stopping Saints extending their winning margin.

There was one change to the Saints side which drew with Rangers, Oisin Smyth getting the nod in midfield over Caolan Boyd-Munce who dropped to the bench. Kevin Nisbet led the attack for the Dons with former Buddie Jamie McGrath having to make do with a place on the bench.

The visitors enjoyed plenty of early pressure, forcing a series of corners before Leighton Clarkson shot into the side netting. Saints threatened for the first time when a short corner routine forced Dimitar Mitov to palm away Oisin Smyth's delivery. Midway through the half a great cross from the right was volleyed home by Okkels to put Aberdeen in front, however the Saints players were adamant Nisbet had handled in the build-up. After a lengthy delay, referee Ross Hardie was eventually called to look at the monitor and decided to rule it out – much to the delight of the Paisley faithful.

That decision seemed to spur Saints on, a tremendous pass from Smyth finding Jonah Ayunga and he cut in before firing narrowly wide from 20 yards. Good work from Ryan Alebiosu then saw his cross knocked as far as Mark O'Hara, whose low shot was held by Mitov at the second attempt. The game had come to life following VAR's intervention, Shayden Morris' shot being deflected just wide before Mitov got down to save an effort from Mandron. A lovely touch from the Frenchman then gave him a sight of goal from the edge of the box but it was on his weaker foot and his shot trundled wide.

Mandron's attempted overhead kick earned him a somewhat harsh booking just after the break before Topi Keskinen dragged a shot wide for the visitors. As the hour mark approached Saints took the lead, O'Hara flighting a free-kick into the box that Mandron took on his chest before thumping a volley past Mitov. Once again there was a pause for a VAR check, this time for offside, but on this occasion the goal stood.

Zach Hemming had had a fairly quiet afternoon but needed to be alert to turn away a cross from sub McGrath that threatened to sail into the top corner. The keeper was then involved in a nasty looking clash with Nisbet that left both players needing treatment but thankfully both were able to continue.

Another sub, James Scott, had the chance to seal things in stoppage time from Mandron's cut-back but he shot straight at Mitov, although the flag then went up for an earlier offside. Great work from Roland Idowu on the break gave Scott another chance, this time it was blocked with VAR deciding there hadn't been a handball. Still Saints refused to settle for one goal, Idowu drawing a great save from Mitov in the final few seconds as the Buddies celebrated a first ever top six win at home.

Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

  • Getting to the SMiSA Stadium

    BY ROAD

Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.

At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

    BY RAIL

Get train from Paisley Gilmour Street to Paisley St James – exit from the station is straight onto Greenhill Road where the stadium is facing you. To plan your journey by rail with Scotrail please click HERE.

    BY BUS

Most buses will stop at Paisley Cross or Mill Street, from both you will see the Paisley Town Hall. From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:

Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.

Away fans: cross road to Love Street continue up the street till you come to Albion Street where you will turn left. Follow Albion Street until you come to the junction with Greenock Road where you will turn right. Cross the road then walk about 200 yards before taking your first left on to Clark Street. Walk straight up Clark Street to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the the stadium on the opposite side of the road. Access to the North Stand will be from Ferguslie Park Avenue.

Remembering Those Who Have Passed | 2024/25

As we do every year, we will be remembering all the St Mirren supporters who have sadly passed away this season 2024/25.

The club will be honouring those that have passed at our final home match of the season against Hibernian on Wednesday 14th May.

If you would like the name of someone who has passed away this season to be included on the big screen during the applause then please complete this FORM by 5pm on Monday 12th May.

Match Preview: St Mirren v Aberdeen (3rd May)

St Mirren play host to Aberdeen this weekend in our final Saturday home match of the season.

The Buddies picked up a point in our first post-split fixture with goals from Mark O'Hara and Conor McMenamin seeing us come from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Rangers at The SMiSA Stadium.

The Opposition

Jimmy Thelin's men know that avoiding defeat at The SMiSA Stadium on Saturday would secure their place in European competition next season.

Aberdeen come into Saturday's match following a vital victory over Hibernian at Pittodrie last weekend. Kevin Nisbet's late goal against his former side saw the Dons win 1-0 and go level with the Hibees in the William Hill Premiership in the race to finish third.

Saints have won the last two encounters between the two sides. An early Toyosi Olusanya strike followed by a double from Mikael Mandron saw the Buddies win 3-0 at Pittodrie in January. Stephen Robinson's side were also the first team to defeat the Aberdeen in the William Hill Premiership this season following their record-breaking start. Goals from Olusanya and Richard Taylor saw us win 2-1 at The SMiSA Stadium on a snowy November day.

The Officials

Ross Hardie is the referee on Saturday and he'll be assisted by Alastair Taylor and Ross Nelson.
