St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce that Luke Kenny has agreed a one-year contract extension that will keep him under contract until summer 2026.
The 21-year-old defender made his Scottish Premiership debut this season as a substitute in our 3-2 win away to St Johnstone in December and made further appearances in our Scottish Cup tie at home to Hearts in February as well as our 5-1 win over Kilmarnock in March.
The St Mirren Youth Academy graduate has made five appearances all in during his time at Saints and had a successful loan spell at NIFL Premiership side Cliftonville during 2023/24 where he was part of their Irish Cup winning squad.
Manager Stephen Robinson said: "We had hoped to get Luke out on loan in January, but injuries meant we needed to keep him around.
We believe Luke can become a good Scottish Premiership defender, but he needs games.
"We’ve given him a new contract with a view to sending him out on loan to get much-needed game time at a good level to help aid his development before coming back to compete for a place here."
