Here to Stay // Fraser Taylor under contract for 2025/26

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to confirm that Fraser Taylor is under contract at Saints for season 2025/26.

The Saints Youth Academy graduate has enjoyed a breakout season, making his first start for the Buddies and enjoying a fruitful loan spell at Scottish League One champions Arbroath where he scored seven goals and registered 14 assists.

Fraser made his first start for Saints in August in our Premier Sports Cup fixture away to Dundee United and featured as a substitute in the UEFA Conference League against Valur and SK Brann. Indeed, it was the 22-year-old who assisted Alex Iacovitti's equalising goal away to SK Brann in the Third Round of the UEFA Conference League.

He would join Arbroath on loan in September and his performances at the Red Lichties saw him named the PFA League One Player of the Year at the PFA Awards Dinner on Sunday evening.

Speaking to stmirren.com, Fraser said: "This season has been good for me.

"Football is a team sport, but to get those accolades is special, especially being voted on by the players in the league that you play against every week. I’m really grateful for that.

During his time at Arbroath, Fraser linked up with experienced ex-Saint Ryan Flynn and he admitted the experience helped him grow as a player.

It’s been another good loan, getting experience playing first-team football. I’m buzzing to come back and just try and get myself in at the first-team here at St Mirren."

"Flynny has helped me up there and playing with him and guys like Sam Stanton and Scott Stewart and learning bits from them has been really good."

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson added: "Fraser has done really well.

I’ve been to watch him personally a few times and for me he’s been the best player in the division. He comes back now and has to bridge that gap. He’ll be working over the summer and it's a big season coming up for him.

"It’s been a fantastic loan for him and Callum Penman. You sometimes think that boys are ready in training, but when you go out and play men's football you can’t replicate that in U18 or youth football.

Results matter, decisions matter and you have to get used to the physicality. He's done fantastic and now it's making that step up to the Premiership level and we're convinced he can do that."
