Up Next: Celtic v St Mirren (20th May)

St Mirren make the short journey through to Glasgow to face Celtic in cinch Premiership action on Saturday.

It's Saints' second to last away match of the 2022/23 season with a top five finish still within reach as the Buddies sit three points off fifth place Hibernian and four points from fourth placed Hearts. The Buddies were left gutted last weekend after an injury-time equaliser saw Saints draw 2-2 with Hearts at the SMiSA Stadium, but a top five finish remains a possibility.

Celtic suffered just their second domestic defeat of the season last weekend as they fell to a 3-0 defeat to rivals Rangers at Ibrox. Ange Postecoglou's side were crowned Champions the week before after a 2-0 win against Hearts at Tynecastle in the first match after the split.

Previous

St Mirren are one of only two sides to have defeated Celtic in the cinch Premiership this season having beaten Ange Postecoglou's men 2-0 in September. Mark O'Hara and Jonah Ayunga scored the goals as we secured our first home league win against the Hoops since 2010.

Celtic have won the other three meetings between the two this season, but despite emphatic sounding scorelines (0-4, 1-5, 1-5) Saints made life difficult for the Hoops.

Saints were also the last side to defeat Celtic at Celtic Park in domestic action going back to January 2021 when Kristian Dennis and Ilkay Durmus scored in a 2-1 victory.
