St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce that we have secured a pre-contract agreement for Cork City winger Malik Dijksteel.
The 24-year-old will join up with Stephen Robinson’s side on a two-and-a-half-year deal in January following the expiry of his contract with the League of Ireland side.
Born in the Netherlands, Malik came through the academy at Feyenoord where he played alongside the likes of Jurrien Timber and Joshua Zirkzee.
He moved to the UK in 2021 where he joined Middlesbrough before signing with Irish side Cork City in 2023 via spells at Whitby Town and Wrexham. Malik has made 41 appearances and scored five goals during his time in Ireland.
Manager Stephen Robinson said: "Malik is a player that we have kept tabs on over the last six months.
He’s a real bright spark in the final third. He’s quick, direct, takes players on and I think the fans will really take to him given how exciting he is."
We look forward to welcoming Malik to the club.
