St Mirren Football Club can announce that Owen Oseni has joined Plymouth Argyle on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, with a sell-on clause and potential for future add-ons, subject to clearance.
The 22-year-old, who made 11 appearances for the Buddies after joining in January from National League side Gateshead, leaves the club after we accepted an offer from the English League One side.
Speaking to stmirren.com, manager Stephen Robinson said: "Owen didn't really settle and hit the ground running at the club. It was a little bit of a longer-term project, but we received a bid from Plymouth and we’re getting a bigger fee than we paid for him.
"Given he wasn't playing on a regular basis, it allows Owen to move on with his career. He’s a really good lad and he has conducted himself ever so well. I think he’ll get better with time and we have protected ourselves with a significant sell-on should that be the case.
The move also lets us to free up more money to do other business which I believe is necessary. There are ongoing negotiations with other players as we are actively looking to recruit two or three players."
Everyone at St Mirren thanks Owen for his contributions during his time at the club and wish him all the best in his future.
