COVID-19 Week 12 Update (2nd June 2020)

COVID-19 Week 12 Update (2nd June 2020)

The uptake of season tickets for the 2020/21 campaign by Saints fans continues to astonish. We are grateful for your unwavering support, loyalty and commitment to the club

Our Early Bird Prices have been extended until 24th July so we can give loyal fans, who wish to support their club, the opportunity to save on their St Mirren FC season ticket. These prices will be available for a longer period of time in the hope that it will relieve some of the financial pressure dedicated fans may feel in wishing to purchase a season ticket. Full details can be found here of how you can #BeInThatNumber.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to issue personalised numbers to season ticket holders as part of the #BeInThatNumber campaign, with the next winning number picking up the Stadium Ticket Announcer Prize.

Meanwhile our inaugural Virtual 50/50 half-time draw took place at the weekend, with the game shown being last year’s dramatic Play-Off Final win over Dundee United.

Congratulations to our first winner John Moore, who wins 50% of the proceeds, with the other half going towards developing our stars of the future at the St Mirren Academy.

Watch out for details of the next draw and of the Saints game that will be featured. Enter with tickets costing just £1 each with no limit on the amount of tickets you can buy.

St Mirren Charitable Foundation

We are excited to announce that on Friday 12th June we will be hosting Drums N Roses here at St Mirren Park for a live streamed set as a fundraiser for St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation.

We were approached by the Pipe & Drum band, who are St Mirren Fans, with their original concept. The day will be called ‘Drums On Friday’ and will kick off at 3pm with young fans & members of the Panda Club playing our community Drum in short filmed segments. We will then have some of our W7 Northbank fans playing along to a St Mirren fan favourite and this will all lead to the evening set live here at St Mirren Park for at least 45 minutes.

It is a great opportunity to wear your St Mirren Strips & have some fun, you don’t need a drum, play a washing basket, a bin, a pot or pan and get involved. Please look out for our social media posts over the next few days for more details and if you wish your child to play our drum get in contact.

Thank you.

And finally

The board would like to record their thanks to all the players who are leaving the club, from those who made a small impact in their time here to those who were hugely instrumental in bringing the club to where it is today.

One player in particular cannot leave without us paying him the respect his input over the last three-and-a-half years deserves.

It started during the second-half of The New Saints IRN-BRU Cup semi final where he dragged us up by the bootstraps and turned a miserable first half performance into a new dawn.

He was instrumental in keeping us up that season and then captained us to promotion the following season.

During our first year back in the premiership it was him more than anyone that gathered the players together when things were looking grim and started a revival that saw us stay up in that wonderful play of final.

He came back to our club at a time when he could easily have gone elsewhere for more money but he felt he wanted to help St Mirren get back to where they belonged and at the same time rekindle his love for football.

He has played through injuries and even returned early after a remarkable recovery from a double hernia operation to ensure our club continued to progress. This season he has been hampered by injuries and had a long overdue operation on his knee which has, in his words, allowed him to train pain free for the first time in years.

He leaves the club with our best wishes and we sincerely hope our paths will cross again at some time in the future.

Take a bow Stephen McGinn. You have earned it.
