Saints were edged out by Rangers at The SMiSA Stadium on Sunday as the Buddies fell to a 1-0 loss. Tuur Rommens first-half goal was enough to give the Ibrox side three points in Paisley. Saints remain in 10th place in the William Hill Premiership, but Kilmarnock's victory over Hearts on Saturday night saw them move level on points.
Falkirk's top six position was all but assured at the weekend after they drew 1-1 with Aberdeen at Pittodrie. The Bairns sit nine points above Dundee United in seventh with nine points to play for. Any positive result for John McGlynn's men on Saturday will secure their top six place. The Bairns have won their last two home matches, winning 5-1 against Kilmarnock in the William Hill Premiership before defeating Dundee United 2-1 in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals the following week.
Both sides have a win apiece in the two meetings this season. Goals from Declan John and Mikael Mandron saw Saints win 2-1 at The Falkirk Stadium in September. That remains our sole victory away from home in the William Hill Premiership this season. Falkirk ran out 2-0 winners at The SMiSA Stadium in January thanks to goals from Finn Yeats and Calvin Miller.
