Scottish Football Supporters Survey launched

Supporters Direct Scotland has launched its Scottish Football Supporters Survey for season 2019/20 and encourages St Mirren supporters to take part to help Scottish Football score a golden future.

Officially recognised as the lead supporters’ group in Scotland by the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) and the Scottish Football Association (Scottish FA), Supporters Direct Scotland has established a formal means to engage with the game’s key decision makers and represent fans’ views.

Last year's survey helped to drive change, focussing on the three big themes of "Value For Money", "Fan Engagement" and "The Supporter Experience". These priorities are shared by supporters, clubs, and the Scottish FA and SPFL, and we have already seen progress in each of these areas. Progress and improvement will be tracked and supported by the three partner organisations, with this survey forming an integral part of a three-year benchmarking study which began last season.

You can read more about the results of the 2018/19 survey by visiting www.scottishsupporters.net.

This year’s findings will be reviewed by Supporters’ Direct Scotland, SPFL, the Scottish FA and communicated to all SPFL clubs together with insights for further improvement.

You can participate in the survey by clicking this link.

This season’s survey will run for three weeks closing on Sunday 15th September.

Supporters raise money for CHAS

A recent bucket collection at the Simple Digital Arena helped raise £295.72 for the Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).

Supporters dug deep before the recent home match against Aberdeen, with generous home and away fans donating their change to support the group.

CHAS Community Fundraiser Maxine Campbell sent the club a letter thanking us for the support saying: "Thank you for giving us the opportunity to hold a bucket collection before your home game vs Aberdeen on Sunday 11th August.

"We raised an incredible £295.72. This allows us to continue creating special and happy memories for children and families across Scotland.

"Your continued support means so much to us and we are grateful that you have chosen to support CHAS once again."

St Mirren Football Club would like to send it thanks to all the fans who showed their support.

Man of the Match Live Vote (11th Aug)

We are giving fans the opportunity to vote for the man of the match and also put two lucky fans in with the chance of winning a £10 voucher for the Club Shop.

Every home game we’ll throw open the voting on the 60 minute mark for 20 minutes where votes can be cast on Facebook and Twitter. All you have to do is use the hashtag #SMFCMOM followed by the name of the player you are voting for, eg ‘#SMFCMOM MAGENNIS’.

With 10 minutes of the game remaining all the votes will be counted then the Stadium Announcer will confirm the winning player over the tannoy system.

From all the fans who nominate the winning player one will be picked at random from the Facebook account and another from the Twitter account and they will each be awarded a £10 voucher for the Club Shop. The winners will be notified through the account they posted from.

Please note that the winners must collect their voucher after the game.

So get yourself ready on the hour mark of Sunday’s game against Aberdeen and get voting with #SMFCMOM.

Bung a Baw (11th Aug)

Paisley Panda will host the ever-popular match day competition ‘Bung a Baw’ during the half-time break of Sunday’s match against Aberdeen.

To take part you will receive a small foam ball which is numbered and you will then have a chance to throw your ball towards our club mascot Paisley Panda in front of the Family Stand. Each person will have 60 seconds to do this and the winner will be the person who has thrown the ball closest to the feet of the Panda. The winner will be confirmed over the PA system.

The competition is sponsored by Glen-Bun Bakery who are supplying a full tray of yummy cakes as the prize for the contest winner.

This season it is FREE to take part in 'Bung a Baw'. The balls will be available from inside the Family Stand in the 30 minutes leading up to kick-off and then again in the first 5 minutes of half-time before the competition starts (subject to availability). Each ball is numbered and participants will also get a ticket with the corresponding number which they will use to claim the prize if they win.

‘Bung a Baw’ continues to be very popular so Paisley Panda advises that you get in early on Sunday to get your ball to take part.

As well as taking care of ‘Bung a Baw’, Paisley Panda will be giving away sweets to the kids in and around the stadium courtesy of the Black and White Army website.

First Scorer Competition (11th Aug)

Paisley Panda is pleased to confirm that ‘First Scorer’ will be back for the game on Sunday against Aberdeen.

‘First Scorer’ lets fans predict in advance of the game who they think will score St Mirren's first goal in Sunday’s match against the Dons.

From all of those who guess correctly, a winner will be picked at random and they will win a box of a dozen doughnuts which will be delivered to their seat right after the goal is scored!

To enter all you have to do ahead of the game is post your prediction of the first St Mirren scorer on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #Saints1stgoal. The lucky winner will then be contacted to confirm which stand they will be in with the row and seat number so that the prize can be delivered to them.
