Club Statement - Supporter Safety

St Mirren Football Club wishes to acknowledge a situation that occurred within the footprint of Hampden Park prior to our Scottish Gas Scottish Cup semi-final match against Celtic.

We recognise that the event took place at a neutral venue and was under the control of the relevant stadium authorities and partner agencies. However, we are aware that some of our supporters, including young children and families, were placed in a situation where they felt unsafe as they arrived at the stadium.

We are currently in dialogue with the appropriate authorities to better understand how this situation arose and what measures were in place to manage supporter movements in advance of the match.

The safety and wellbeing of our supporters remain of paramount importance to St Mirren Football Club, and we are seeking reassurance that appropriate steps will be taken to prevent a similar occurrence in the future.

We will always do our utmost to support and protect our fans and want them to feel safe and confident when attending matches.

Supporter Conduct at Barclays Hampden

St Mirren Football Club would like to thank supporters who have purchased tickets for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic.

Your backing at Hampden will be vital as we aim to reach our second cup final of the season.

Ahead of tomorrow’s match, we would like to remind supporters to respect the ground regulations to ensure everyone can enjoy the occasion safely and without disruption.

We would kindly ask that supporters do not bring pyrotechnics, balloons or stickers into the stadium. These items can potentially create safety risks, cause delays to kick-off and create damage that the club becomes liable for. Supporters should also be aware that inappropriate conduct could have a bearing on future trips to Hampden.

Supporters were commended for their behaviour on our last visit to Hampden in December and you were a credit to the club as we won the Premier Sports Cup.

Please be loud, be passionate, but do so in a respectful manner. Let’s get behind the players and staff as we look to create history. COYS!

Spring Clean Scotland 2026 Volunteer Clean Up

Our volunteer group recently took part in Keep Scotland Beautiful's #SpringCleanScotland 2026.

The volunteers, who tidy The SMiSA Stadium stands after matchdays and keep it pleasing to the eye, cleaned external areas of the stadium during the international break and we are extremely thankful for their ongoing efforts.

Spring Clean Scotland is Keep Scotland Beautiful's annual campaign which brings together people from across Scotland to tackle litter. During this month-long campaign, thousands of volunteers spend time outdoors cleaning up the environment through sociable, fun, litter picking sessions.
