ACCORD Hospice given match tickets as part of the Help A Buddie initiative

Thanks to the generosity of St Mirren supporters, we have been able to allocate tickets to ACCORD Hospice for Sunday’s match against Motherwell as part of our Help a Buddie initiative.

Help a Buddie is our brand-new initiative where St Mirren supporters have the chance to purchase and donate a match ticket for those less fortunate. Due to the support for Help a Buddie so far we will be able to allocate a minimum of 15 tickets per league match that will be shared amongst some of the most vulnerable in our community and give them a chance to come along to the SMiSA Stadium where they might not have had the opportunity before.

First-team players Keanu Baccus and Ryan Strain were on hand to pass on the tickets to ACCORD Hospice.

St Mirren Chief Operating Officer, Keith Lasley said: "This club has got to be more than just about the football on a match day. It’s got to be about the community.

"We’ve got a big platform within the local area, and we must use that as a force for good.

"I want to say a big thank you to our fans whose support of the Help a Buddie scheme has made this possible and means that we can allocate a minimum of 15 tickets per league match at the moment. For Sunday’s match against Motherwell we have been able to hand tickets to ACCORD Hospice and we look forward to welcoming them."

David McFadden, Fundraising and Communications Manager from ACCORD Hospice, said: "The Help a Buddie project is another fantastic way that St Mirren and its very generous supporters have thought about the people in our community.

"ACCORD is delighted to be one of the first recipients of the Help a Buddie tickets and these will be used for patients and their families if they are able, volunteers and staff at the Hospice.

"The tickets will give them a great day out and a new experience or memory to cherish. Keep up the great work to the St Mirren Supporters and the club, definitely a brilliant project to introduce for the benefit of the community."

The Help a Buddie scheme will run for the entirety of the 2022/23 season and will continue to help benefit local community groups/organisations and those less fortunate supporters. If you want to Help a Buddie please click HERE to donate a match ticket.
