St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Jake Young from English League One side Stevenage, subject to international clearance.
The forward puts pen-to-paper on an 18-month deal that sees him at St Mirren until summer 2027. The 24-year-old adds to manager Stephen Robinson’s attacking options as he becomes our second signing of the January window.
Jake joined Stevenage in 2024 after a prolific loan spell at Swindon Town where he scored 16 goals in 26 appearances for the Robins. As well as his time at the Lamex Stadium, Jake has also had spells at Forest Green Rovers, Bradford City and Barrow.
Speaking to stmirren.com, Jake said: "It’s a good feeling and I’m excited to get going.
I’ve heard a lot about it here and the recent success the club has had so looking forward to getting started and showing the fans what I’m about.
"I’ve got a lot of mates who have been up in Scotland. I know Jayden [Richardson] and I had a chat with him about the place and the culture here, so it was a no brainer.

I like to think that I’m an exciting player who can make stuff happen and help the team win games.
"I want to help us win some points and get us up the table. I’m looking forward to getting out there, finding my feet and getting some goals."
Manager Stephen Robinson added: "Jake had a brilliant spell at Swindon where he scored a lot of goals.
We’ve chased him for a number of weeks, and he gives us an outlet in behind. He likes to play up front with somebody, run off them and he has a proven record of scoring goals and that’s something we’ve definitely been missing, that clinical edge.
"He’ll certainly add to that, if we can get the clearance over the line, but it’s more likely he’s involved on Tuesday."
