Kevin Van Veen met up with his St Mirren teammates last week after arriving in Paisley following his deadline day move to the Buddies.
The 33-year-old Dutch forward joined Saints on loan until the end of the season from Eredivisie side FC Groningen.
Speaking on his first day at the club, Kevin told stmirren.com: "It's been good. I left Scotland about a year ago and I had reached a lot of highs that season [at Motherwell] with 29 goals.
"I made a move and due to some private reasons, I had a lot going on so I couldn't really focus on football, but I've got a bit of light at the end of that tunnel so I feel like I am ready to go again.
I like the manager's vision and his passion for the game and he told me he was really keen to bring me in. I feel a really good connection with him and I think he will help me get back to who I was.
"I'm ready to be back and show everybody who I was at Motherwell. I look forward to working with my teammates."
