Saints go into Wednesday night's match in 11th place in the William Hill Premiership following a 3-1 defeat to Dundee at Dens Park on Saturday. The Buddies are without a win in seven in the league.
Aberdeen picked up their fifth league win of the season on Sunday as they defeated Livingston 1-0 at the Home of the Set Fare Arena. That moved Jimmy Thelin's side up to seventh place on 17 points.
The Dons took the points in the only meeting between the two this season. Alex Gogic saw a goal chopped off before Jayden Richardson was sent off to see the Buddies reduced to 10 men. Aberdeen took advantage with Mario Lazetic scoring in injury-time to win the game 1-0.
St Mirren were victorious on their last trip to Pittodrie. Toyosi Olusanya opened the scoring before a brace from Mikael Mandron saw Stephen Robinson's men run out 3-0 winners.
