Form
St Mirren were beaten 2-0 by Hibernian at Easter Road at the weekend. That came after a 4-3 loss at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock which saw our five game unbeaten run come to an end.
Saints were victorious in our previous home match with Miguel Freckleton's goal giving us a 1-0 win over league leaders Hearts at the beginning of February. The Buddies sit in 10th place in the William Hill Premiership, three points ahead of Kilmarnock and a point behind Dundee.
Motherwell continued their good run of form with a 2-0 victory over Aberdeen at Fir Park on Sunday. They face Aberdeen again tonight (Wednesday 18th February) in the Fifth Round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup.
Jens Berthel Askou's side are unbeaten in 2026 with their last loss coming away to Rangers in December. The Steelmen sit in fourth place in the William Hill Premiership, five points ahead of Hibernian.
There have been three meetings between the two sides this season with both teams boasting a win and the other game finishing goalless. Neither side could be separated when Motherwell visited The SMiSA Stadium in August with the game ending 0-0. Saints defeated the Steelmen 4-1 at Hampden Park in the semi-final of the Premier Sports Cup. Mikael Mandron scored a double alongside goals from Dan Nlundulu and Richard King saw us progress to the Final before ultimately winning the competition. Goals from Tawanda Maswanhise and Elliot Watt gave Motherwell a 2-0 win at Fir Park when the sides last met in January.
