Form
The Buddies head into Tuesday's match on the back of a three match unbeaten run. Despite being reduced to 10 men on Saturday, Saints managed to pick up a point at home to Dundee following a goalless draw. That came after a 1-1 draw away to Livingston in the William Hill Premiership and a penalty shoot-out victory over the Lions in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup.
A win on Tuesday evening would move Saints up to ninth place in the William Hill Premiership with Dundee not playing until Wednesday night.
League leaders Hearts stretched their lead at the top of the table to six points following a 3-0 win away to Dundee United on Saturday night. That, coupled with Rangers' draw away to Hibernian, saw Derek McInnes' side go further ahead in their search to win the title for the first time since 1960.
Saints are unbeaten in two home matches against the Jam Tarts this season. The first saw Stephen Robinson's men progress on penalties in the Premier Sports Cup in August. Neither side could be separated after a 1-1 draw and the Buddies would prevail in the shoot-out. The Buddies were held by Hearts when they visited in October in league action. Goals from Dan Nlundulu and Miguel Freckleton twice had Saints ahead. Freckleton thought he'd made it 3-1 to Saints only to see his goal controversially ruled out. Hearts would then equalise through Claudio Braga to take a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
Hearts were victorious when the sides met at Tynecastle last month with Derek McInnes' side winning 2-0.
