The Buddies reached the quarter-final stage following a penalty shoot-out victory over Hearts at The SMiSA Stadium last month. Alex Gogic gave Saints a first-half lead before Oisin McEntee levelled for the Jam Tarts on 78 minutes to take the game to extra-time and penalties. Richard King, Marcus Fraser, Roland Idowu and Evan Mooney netted for Saints, while Shamal George saved Claudio Braga's attempt. That allowed Malik Dijksteel to step up and tuck away the final penalty as the Buddies claimed a 5-4 shoot-out win.
Stephen Robinson's men are unbeaten in their last five in all competitions and picked up their first league win of the season away to Falkirk on Saturday. Goals from Declan John and Mikael Mandron saw the Saints win 2-1 at the Falkirk Stadium in the William Hill Premiership.
Kilmarnock defeated Dundee United in the last 16 to progress to the quarter-final stage. Marcus Dackers and Brad Lyons scored for the Ayrshire side as they defeated the Arabs 2-1 at Rugby Park last month.
Stuart Kettlewell's side suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday. An injury-time penalty kick saw Celtic secure a 2-1 victory at Rugby Park in the William Hill Premiership.
