The 2022/23 cinch Premiership season gets underway this weekend with Saints hosting Motherwell at the SMiSA Stadium on Sunday.
Saints rounded off their Premier Sports Cup campaign with a 3-1 win over FC Edinburgh. Mark O'Hara scored his first goal for the Buddies before Jonah Ayunga's brace took the forward's tally to four goals in four games since joining in the summer.
Stephen Robinson's men will be aiming to better last season's ninth place finish in the cinch Premiership. Saints have finished in 11th, ninth (twice) and seventh since returning to the top-flight in 2018.
Motherwell's fifth place finish last season ensured a spot in UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying for the Steelmen which also meant our match had to be moved to Sunday. However, a 3-0 aggregate loss to Irish side Sligo Rovers saw the 'Well exit the competition at the first hurdle. That defeat was enough to see Motherwell manager Graham Alexander depart by mutual consent.
