Thanks to funding from SMiSA members, The SMiSA Stadium now has additional seating, increasing our capacity to just over 8,000.
These new seats, located at the back of the West and Tony Fitzpatrick Family Stands, ensure our stadium is now European competition league-phase compliant. While the stadium was compliant when it opened in 2009, the installation of the disabled viewing platform in the Main Stand back in 2016 reduced our capacity below 8,000.
Following last season's UEFA Conference League qualification and regular capacity crowds, plans were put in motion to add these new seats. That has now come to fruition with the installation of almost 40 new seats ahead of the 2025/26 season getting underway.
St Mirren Chief Operating Officer Keith Lasley said: "We are thankful to SMiSA and their members for their continued support.
"Funding for projects like this provides a real tangible benefit and showcases the working relationship between SMiSA and the club."
SMiSA Board member Jim Cumming added: "SMiSA were approached by the club and asked if we could help support a couple of infrastructure projects around the club. Both would help increase the home support match day experience and help increase revenue into the club.
"We are delighted that the members have backed this proposal to install the additional seats and we look forward to working with the club to assist with funding future projects."
