Craig McLeish has been appointed permanent manager for Saints and the Buddies boss has added seven players to his squad this season with the signings of Samuel Ramos, Ryan Carr, Chris Mochrie, Jacob Chapman, Henry Fieldson, Eseosa Sule and Paul Nsio.

Falkirk are looking to build on a successful first season back in the William Hill Premiership after John McGlynn's side finished in sixth place last season. The Bairns have added former Saints Scott Tanser and Ryan Strain to their squad this summer alongside Craig Sibbald, Jack McMillan, Jay Hogarth, Lewis Neilson, Deniss Melniks, Paul McGovern, Ethan Laidlaw, Ben Krahaus, Aodhan Doherty and Joe Gardner.

Falkirk have, however, saw the departure of key players like Barney Stewart, Dylan Tait and Calvin Miller as well as Brian Graham, Gary Oliver, Sean Mackie and Jamie Sneddon. The Bairns have also seen loan players Filip Lissah, Kyrell Wilson, Henry Cartwright, Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi, Ben Broggio, Louie Marsh, Sam Hart and Ethan Williams return to their parent clubs.

So far this season

Saints finished top of Group C in the Premier Sports Cup after three wins from four. The Buddies defeated Dumbarton (4-0), Cove Rangers (4-0) and East Kilbride (4-3) before a 1-0 loss to Dunfermline in our final match.

Falkirk failed to qualify from their group after finishing second on seven points. The Bairns began their campaign with a 5-0 win away to Edinburgh City before falling to a 1-0 defeat at home to Ayr United. John McGlynn's side were then held to a 1-1 draw away to Alloa Athletic and missed out on the bonus point after losing 4-2 in the shoot-out. They closed the group last weekend with a 3-0 win at home to Stranraer.

Previous

The two sides met three times in William Hill Premiership action last season with the away side the victor on all three occasions.

St Mirren won 2-1 at the Falkirk Stadium in September thanks to goals from Declan John and Mikael Mandron. The Buddies were 2-1 winners again when we faced Falkirk at their own stadium in March with Miguel Freckleton and Liam Donnelly netting for the Saints.

Falkirk won 2-0 at The Marbill Coaches Stadium in January after goals from Finn Yeats and Calvin Miller.
