St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Henry Fieldson on a deal until summer 2028, subject to clearance.

The Buddies have beaten competition from clubs on both sides of the border to the signing of the highly-rated 21-year-old. He pens a two-year deal, with the club holding the option to extend for a further year.

Henry will provide competition in the left-back position while also being able to play at left centre-half.

The 21-year-old, who came through the Sunderland Academy, joined Queen’s Park in August 2024 and went on to make 61 appearances for the Spiders. He’s chosen Paisley as his next destination following the expiry of his contract in Glasgow and becomes our fifth signing of the summer.

Speaking to stmirren.com, Henry said: "I've been wanting this for a while now.

"I've only really had one destination in mind. When this got introduced to me it was something I wanted straight away.

"Scotland has always been a big part of my life. My parents met in Scotland, and I've always enjoyed Scottish football. When I came to Queen's Park, I fell in love with it.

"I had the opportunity to go back to England, but to step up to the Scottish Premiership, especially with me being able to play for Scotland, it all seems to be the right move for me.

"I'm just buzzing to get going. It's a real good project this year in terms of the new style of play and the ambition we have. I can't wait to be a part of that.”

Manager Craig McLeish added: “I’m delighted to get Henry in.

"He's someone that we've been tracking for a long time. Henry can cover at left centre-back and at left-back. We know, and Henry knows too, that Declan’s [John] in as our starter right now and we now have somebody behind Declan to really push him.

"He's played a lot of games for his age. He's got a lot of maturity about him as well. He’s really fit, athletic and handles the ball really well. We're excited about him and it also gives us a little bit of breathing space to allow us to start exploring loan options for Thomas Falconer to give him the first team experience that he needs.

"The left-side of defence is looking really good with Declan being established there and now with Henry sitting behind him and then Thomas pushing the two of them on as well. I'm really happy with how that side of the pitch looks."

"I've only really had one destination in mind. When this got introduced to me it was something I wanted straight away."
