Opposition
Rangers booked their place in the final of the Premier Sports Cup with a 1-0 win over Aberdeen at Barclays Hampden last weekend. Ryan Naderi scored the only goal of the game on 83 minutes to see Derek McInnes' side into December's showpiece.
The Ibrox side have won three and drawn two of their last five league matches since facing Saints in September. Wins have come at home against Kilmarnock (3-1) and St Johnstone (4-0) and away to Celtic (1-0). Their draws have come away from home with stalemates against Dundee (2-2) and Hearts (2-2).
McInnes' men currently sit second in the William Hill Premiership, four points behind leaders Celtic, albeit having played a game less. Their only league defeat this season came at Ibrox in August, when they lost 2-1 to Hibernian.
Previous
Saints have faced Rangers twice this season, both times at Ibrox.
The Buddies were desperately unlucky to leave Ibrox empty-handed when we faced the Gers in league duty in September. McLeish's men put in a strong performance on the road, but were undone by a 90th minute goal from Bojan Miovski who gave Rangers a 1-0 victory.
The other meeting came a few weeks prior in the second round of the Premier Sports Cup in August. Saints were beaten 5-1 that afternoon with Chris Mochrie on the scoresheet for the Buddies.
Our last home win against Rangers came on Boxing Day 2024. Caolan Boyd-Munce scored an injury-time winner to give us a 2-1 victory over the Gers.
Referee Team
Nick Walsh is the referee on Saturday evening. His assistants are Frank Connor and Daniel McFarlane. Gary Hanvidge is the fourth official.
