A fairly drab affair was sparked into action when Hibernian took the lead on 78 minutes. But Saints responded well with substitute Paul Nsio forcing an own goal to take a point at the Marbill Coaches Stadium.

Craig McLeish was forced into one change from the side that won at home to Dundee on Saturday. Chris Mochrie came in from the start in place of the injured Ismeal Kabia. Nsio came back onto the bench after missing Saturday's win over Dundee with a virus.

Mochrie created the first opening of an uneventful opening half. The winger found Luke Thomas with a cross in from the left with just two minutes played. Thomas took a touch to set himself but slipped and couldn't manage to get his strike away.

Hibs would see more of the ball, but didn't cause any real problems for Saints. The away side's best chance came five minutes into the second-half when a loose pass from Jacob Chapman went straight to Joe Newell 25 yards from goal. The midfielder tried to catch the Saints stopper off his line, only to send it just wide of the left-hand post.

With 12 minutes remaining, the visitors took the lead through Marko Ivezic. The defender scrambled the ball home after a stramash following a corner kick.

Saints reacted well and substitutes Jake Young and Samuel Ramos almost combined to draw us level on 81 minutes. Young's low ball across the face was agonisingly turned wide by the Spaniard. The hosts would equalise two minutes later after Nsio helped forced the ball into net via Kerr in a goal similar to Hibs'.

The Buddies could have taken all three points with two big opportunities in the final minutes. The first saw Killian Phillips, on his 100th St Mirren appearance, lift a brilliant ball across to Calvin Ramsay who fired over the bar. Then it was the turn of Young who forced a big save from Raphael Sallinger to ensure his side took a point from the game.
