Lewis Hodgkiss agrees new contract until summer 2028
St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce that Lewis Hodgkiss has agreed a new contract until summer 2028 with the option of a further year.
The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Championship league leaders Stenhousemuir where he has featured 15 times so far this season and scored two goals.
The midfielder has also played in five of the Buddies’ KDM Evolution Trophy league phase matches, scoring three times for the young Saints today including in Tuesday night’s 5-0 win away to Edinburgh City.
Speaking to stmirren.com, manager Craig McLeish said: "Lewis went out on loan to Stenhousemuir in the Championship and he's started the season really well there.
"He's had some really impressive performances, doing really well at the top of the Championship. He had a strong pre-season with us as well. He's training with the first team group every day.
"He’s a player that we think could push into our plans in the future and playing lots of minutes in the Championship can only help that.
"We've signed Chris Mochrie and Henry Fieldson from the Championship, Paul Nsio had a year in the Championship last season as well, so if Lewis continues to do what he's doing, we've showed we have no issue with anyone stepping up from that level.
"Lewis has the benefit that he's in and around our group when he's here with us during the day and he has to do everything he can to keep trying to push into our plans."
